Bowers House

Bowers House was built in the 1880s as a boarding house for the influx of migrant workers who were aiding in getting goods to the wharf district for shipping back to DC and NYC metro areas. In the 1960’s / 70’s this was a retail store front (hair salon in what is now Bowers-21) and the owner lived upstairs (now Bowers-20).
